NJ Rapper Claims Kenrick Lamar Took His Idea

The world of hip-hop is amazed at the latest video from Kendrick Lamar for his song “The Heart Part 5” except for one New Jersey rapper.

A rapper by the name of AK claims King Kendrick stole his video concept from his 2020 music video, “Family Tree.” In AK’s black-and-white video, he’s morphing into Snoop, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z.

AK posted on Instagram, “Kendrick Lamar’s new music video is an exact copy of my video ‘Family Tree.” AK also makes the point that the video concept was done when he was signed to Universal Records, the same label that Kendrick is on today.

While he went on to praise Lamar, AK continued, “As an independent artist, that’s the type of sh*t you have to eat.”

Kendrick hasn’t responded to AK’s claims. His album Mr. Morale & The Bigsteppers drops Friday.
