We haven’t heard a political statement from Janet Jackson since Rhythm Nation. However, the pop icon spoke out last Sunday via a tweet referencing her Rhythm Nation 1814 album. She tweeted, We are a nation with no geographic boundaries, bound together through our beliefs. We are like-minded individuals, sharing a common vision, pushing toward a world rid of color lines. Accompanying the post was a video with Rhythm Nation imagery with the names of the black people we have lost due to police brutality, ending with #BlackLivesMatter.
