The American Red Cross began its “Missing Types” campaign in hopes of raising awareness for the need for blood donations. Now in its second year, it illustrates the critical role every prospective blood donor has in ensuring lifesaving blood products are available to patients. Iconic corporate and civic brands, celebrities and influencers will remove the A, B and O –the main blood groups –from signage, websites and other public-facing platforms during the campaign period. In doing so, the campaign will allow people to experience what happens when something they take for granted in everyday life goes missing.

New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) has joined the #MissingTypes movement to help bring awareness to the fact that not enough people donate blood. (Only about 3% of the U.S. population gives. That’s it.)

When donors come to give blood between now and June 30th they’ll be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to meet the boys and attend the final show of the Mixtape Tour on July 14 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida!*

Trip includes airfare for your donor and a friend, two-nights beachfront resort accommodations, Mixtape Tour concert tickets, NKOTB meet-n-greet and a $250 gift card for expenses. The Mixed Tape Tour also stars Salt-N-Pepa, Debbie Gibson, and Naughty by Nature.

To donate, you can make an appointment to give blood by logging on to the website:  https://www.redcross.org/local/south-carolina/about-us/locations/central-sc.html?utm_source=GMBlisting&utm_medium=organic using the Red Cross Blood Donor app, or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
