French Montana’s new album Mac & Cheese 5 debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200, falling short of early sales projections. The album moved 34,000 equivalent units, lower than expected, possibly due to a scam involving vinyl copies of the album. A Twitter user accused French Montana of running a promotion selling $5 vinyl copies that were allegedly shipped to random addresses, potentially to boost sales numbers. Billboard did not count the vinyl sales, leading to a significant drop in projected sales. Despite controversy, the album features collaborations with Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and others.
