Misty Copeland made history twice. First, when she became the very first African American woman to advance to principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater. Then, she and Brooklyn Mack were the first black couple to play lead roles in a full length production of “Swan Lake”,  at the Washington Ballet.

Misty Copeland is now set to break another ceiling at American Ballet Theater. She and Calvin Royal III will make their debuts as Pierrette & Pierrot in “Harlequinade”. This will be the first time in American Ballet Theater history, that an African American man and woman will dance a lead couple’s roles.

Congratulations!!
