Boogie celebrated the career milestone by thanking his fans via Instagram. “THANK YOU HOODIE GANG,” the rapper captioned a screenshot of an article detailing the feat.

Billboard reports that the record sold 58,000 units in the U.S. for the week ending January 10, according to Nielsen Music. Very few of Hoodie SZN‘s units, however, account for actual album sales, according to the New York Times.

In fact, the 20-track project only sold 823 actual copies, setting a new precedent for the fewest units sold in a week for a number one album. The album’s streaming activity is what pushed it to number one. The previous record was held by 21 Savage’i am > i was, which sold 3,481 copies but earned 84 million streams, the Timesreports.

As Billboard notes, Hoodie SZN is the first album to spend its first week at number one by climbing up the chart — rather than debuting in the top spot — since January of 2018, when The Greatest Showman soundtrack climbed from #5 to #1.

Hoodie SZN was released on December 21 and serves as Boogie’s second full-length studio album, boasting features from TygaOffsetJuice WRLD and more.  Upon its initial release, it debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200.
